Peace Walks
Peace Walks are an opportunity to go beyond our day-to-day lives and open to something much bigger. With each step, we connect to mother earth who nourishes and sustains us, and we remember all the land ancestors who have taken care of her for millenia. We feel our interdependence with all life, we feel just this moment, and we find gratitude. Walking in nature creates time to open the heart to this abundance, to become humble, and to assimilate new understandings and ways of being in the world… It is a walk to heal the earth and our own hearts.
Peace Walk – August 25th 2025
For those of you who love the outdoors, walking, photography, or an opportunity to go out in a boat on Georgian Bay, you won’t want to miss this. The remote Moon Island Trail we will be walking is situated on a boat access only island in Georgian Bay in the Massassauga Provincial Park. Deanna Dion, who has lived along the shores of Georgian Bay much of her life, will be boating us to this gorgeous island. From there we will take a few moments to connect to the earth, to our surroundings, to our own aliveness and will then start a silent hike – blessing and receiving blessings from Mother Earth. At the halfway point, we will stop at a look out and take a break for sharing and reflection. Deanna will share some of her local knowledge on the way back and there will be an opportunity to talk, take photos, and connect with each other at that time. Before returning back to the mainland, there will be some time to have a picnic lunch or snacks, go for a swim, or just sit and enjoy Georgian Bay.
