Minding Your Inner Monkey Workshop Series – Part 1


The Minding Your Inner Monkey Workshop Series is a 10-week evidence-based workshop series designed to support you in breaking through the challenges of habitual stress. The workshops are founded on the principles of mindfulness and self-compassion which are now extensively researched and supported in the scientific literature. As a facilitator, I carry a consistent approach encouraging participants to become mindful and aware of the present moment through a variety of different techniques and exercises done together and at home. The workshops also integrate yogic practices that have been shown to be helpful for people struggling with stress including gentle movement (yogic postures), breathing techniques, and the cultivation of particular mental states such as gratitude. These workshops are OHIP-covered with a valid OHIP card.

Participants are required to commit to attending all of the workshops in the series and to doing  30-60 minutes of home practice/reflection daily. We are unable to accept people who have active suicidal ideation, untreated PTSD, active substance use/addictions, self-harm behaviours or other forms of more severe mental illness.

Minding Relating Workshop Series (Formerly known as Minding Your Inner Monkey Part 2)

This evidence-based 10 week workshop series is designed to support participants in integrating their existing mindfulness practice in daily life and in their relationships. It will focus on developing a deeper understanding avoidance and craving, the practice of self-compassion and compassion for others, boundaries, and how these apply in interpersonal relationships. The workshops will continue to build on the skills practiced in Part 1. Registrants for this workshop series must:

  • have completed the first MYIM workshop series
  • have a regular mindfulness-based home practice (at least 4 days/week)
  • be currently in remission from severe mental illness (no active suicidal ideation, self-harm, hallucinations, dissociation etc.)
  • be able to commit to all sessions and to regular home practice for at least 30 minutes/day
  • be willing to uphold the group guidelines
