Dear friends,
I am ever so pleased to share with you about my new blog and actual physical place, “A Place To Be”!
It’s been a long time coming! As you probably know by now, my move from Toronto to Sequin township in Northern Ontario (where the closest town has a population of 1200) has been a massive change. In addition to adjusting to life in the forest, I had to take on the job of general contractor for major house renovations. For anyone who has done renos, you may appreciate what a momentous and arduous undertaking this was, particularly for someone who knew nothing about house construction. As a result, over the past year, I had minimal time to write and share some of the hilarious stories and and profound lessons that I learned along the way. That said, after many people encouraging me to start writing again, I’ve decided to start a new “blog”.
‘A Place To Be’, will be the name of both a blog and a retreat space on the land here. The blog will be where I will share about adjusting to life in the countryside, about the new relationships formed with my neighbours, the land, and myself, and about this home and retreat space that is emerging. This retreat space, also called ‘A Place to Be’ (as opposed to ‘The Place To Be’ – which doesn’t sound quite right – though it might well be – but you’ll have to come here to find out for yourself), will eventually become a space where I can host groups for workshops and weekend intensives, as well as a space for one or two people to come who would like to do solo retreats or creative writing etc. My hope is that this space will be a place for finding our way back into connection with what keeps us truly alive, vibrant, creative, and healthy.
If you would like to read my blog, please be sure to update your preferences in the Heart Space Newsletter!!!
Amazing and beautiful.
